40 Years in the Making.

family, flavor & southern bbq

From a small room in Memphis to a train car in Colorado and back home to Tennessee — one family, one tradition, and a whole lot of smoke along the way.

The Road So Far

From Memphis to Colorado & Back

Four decades, two states and one family recipe box that never left the kitchen.

Where It Started

Our family opened a small restaurant built around something we knew well — good Southern food, great BBQ, and treating every customer like family.

Louisville, Colorado

A Train Car Full of Smoke

We took the tradition west and turned a train car into our home for BBQ. A small family operation that grew into a catering business feeding businesses, special events and golf tournaments.

Along the Way
Denver & Beyond

Feeding the Whole State

Our BBQ went out to athletes, celebrities, businesses and fans across Colorado — the Broncos, the Nuggets and the Buffaloes, plus more tournaments and private events than we can count.

Home Again

After decades of serving communities across the country, we’ve come home — Memphis roots, Colorado memories, and one more chapter left to write.

From the Family Album

Forty Years of Good Company

A few snapshots from the road — the family who started it and some of the folks who pulled up a chair along the way.

What Never Changed

One Family, Every Plate

Through every move and every plate of BBQ, one thing stayed the same: this has always been a family business built on hard work, great food, and bringing people together.

Today we’re starting a new chapter in Franklin — a small family restaurant with a big history. Forty years in the making. One family tradition. One more chapter to write.

How We Do It

Three Things, Done Right

01

The Pit

Real hardwood and real patience. The brisket goes on before sunrise so it’s ready when you are — never rushed, never reheated.

02

The Blues

The soundtrack is non-negotiable. Memphis soul and twelve-bar blues, loud enough to feel, low enough to talk over.

03

The Table

Butcher paper, big trays, plenty of napkins. Dine in, take out, or let a family pack do the cooking for you.

House Rules

What We Believe

Hardwood Only

If it didn’t take all day, it isn’t done. No gas shortcuts, no liquid smoke.

Made From Scratch

Rubs, sauces and sides mixed in-house, from recipes with some mileage on them.

Loud & Friendly

Good music and good people. Come as you are, leave a little happier.

Family First

Family recipes, family packs, family manners — everybody eats.

Come Hungry. Leave Humming.

the pit's already lit

Round up the family, grab a stack of napkins, and come see what all the smoke is about.
